List of websites giving  English – Tamil dictionaries for free online.

1. Tamil Wiktionary – Tamil wiktionary is a Multi lingual – Tamil dictionary. It has more than One lakh words with a focus on technical gloassary prepared by Tamil virtual University. This is a free to edit dictionary. So you can improve the pages by adding correct meaning, pronunciation, images etc.,

2. DSAL dictionariesDigital South Asia Library is a portal for Tamil’s oldest dictionaries. It is a treasure house for Tamil lovers. Gives meanings Tamil words found in literature.

7. Google English – Tamil dictionary and Google Tamil – English dictionary – These Google dictionaries are in the beginning stage but do have a lot of potential when they provide APIs and integrate with other Google products. The simple interface and phrase meanings are quite notable.

My fav is palanniappa windows based software. Handy and nice one. Also I can use Tamil 99 layout to type in Palaniyappa dictionary :)

Hi Indik, all the dictionaries listed here are free only. But only Pal’s E-dictionary is downloadable

its me again.. survival instincts.. in the more innocent..like bird learning how to live fly recognise its mum etc.. not the jason bourne type of survival insticnts :p
