I was surprised to see AOL Tamil site today. When was it launched? Besides Hindi, Tamil is the only Indian language present there and the trend to give importance for Tamil can be seen in almost all Indian portals. But it’s just market logic. Next to Hindi, Tamil seems to dominate the Indian internet market. But what is disappointing to note in all these multinational sites is that they follow the same rotten formula of Movies + News + Astrology + Literature. If someone would come with exclusive and quality content, that would be great.
Another thing I noted recently is that now one can type in Indian languages inside Orkut using the Google Indic Transliteration scheme.
