Quick Tip: Use the latest Firefox 3 RC1 and you can view all Tamil Unicode sites properly.

For Firefox 2 users, read below:

Windows:

If you have a problem with reading in all Tamil Unicode sites (example: Tamil Wikipedia, Maatru!),

Then go to start-control panel-regional and language options-languages and check both the options in supplemental language support. For installing this you need to have the windows installation CD or you should have installed windows with a original CD.

Some sites like Vikatan, Dinamalar may have IE specific design. To view these sites better IE tab extension will help.

It is possible that your system doesn’t have any Tamil Unicode font. Then, install e-kalappai 2.0b (Tamilnet99). Besides installing Tamil Unicode fonts, it will also enable you to write Tamil in any application in your system.

If the problem persists, check that you have the latest version of firefox installed and check whether view–>character encoding is specified as unicode (UTF-8) and tools-options-content-fonts&colors-advanced- encoding is set as western (iso-8859-1) or unicode (UTF-8) and fonts for is set as tamil or western.

Alternatively, you can choose to install the latest FireFox 3 Beta 5 which renders Tamil Unicode fonts without any problem. But, until its official release you may not be able to use your current Firefox extensions.

All platforms:

If you have problem with only some Tamil Unicode sites,

Then install this greasemonkey extension first, and then install this MozTxtaliAgnfix script.

If you have problem reading Non-Unicode Tamil sites,

then install padma and adhiyan extenisons. Also install the Padma enhancer script
